It is very odd to find that manu people still believe in Superstitions and omens and things like this in our modern time. If this happened in past, then people who lived in past might have an excuse, because they know very little about scientific discoveries that we know now. But, really it is a matter of belief, not science. In some places of the world you may meet some well-learned people who worship cows, idols, etc. Those people do not follow their mind or heart, rather they follow their fathers and grandfathers. They only adopt the habit of their ancestors without thinking whether they are right or wrong.
