End of the myth

The end of the myth

The soldiers, who had already terrorized the inhabitants of the earth, started to fall like flies on the ground of Baysaan. The Muslims put an end to the myth of the 'invincible army'. The flag of Islam rose high, whereas the flag of the Tatars fell. It was the moment for which the Muslims had been waiting for over 40 years: {And that day the believers will rejoice in the Victory of Allaah. He Gives victory to whom He Wills, and He Is The Exalted in Might, The Merciful.} [Quran 30:4-5]

The Tatarian army was completely exterminated. None of the army survived. The army that had invaded almost half the globe, perished, the army that shed the blood of the millions, ruined hundreds of cities and caused mischief on earth, perished. The Islamic great army emerged victorious.
The great Mujaahid, pious righteous hero, dismounted from his horse and rolled his face on the ground, and prostrated himself out of gratitude to Allaah The Almighty.

The mission of King Al-Muthaffar had not yet ended. The Tatars were still present in the territories of Shaam. They were still present in Damascus, Homs, Aleppo and other cities of Shaam. They were still present in Iraq, Turkey, Persia and other countries. Damascus was the first Islamic station under the control of the Tatars. It is about 150 kilometers North-East of ‘Ayn Jaaloot. This great Islamic city should be purified from the filth of the Tatars. He sent a great message carrying the glad tidings of this glorious victory.

The inhabitants of Damascus received the news of victory with indescribable pleasure, because a lot of them had no hope that the Tatars could be defeated. But when they heard about the news of this brilliant victory, they raised their heads and saw the giants of Tatars but very little. Furthermore, the people of Damascus revolted against the Mongolian army, and caught hold of the Tatarian soldiers and went on killing them, who, consequently, {were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves.} [Quran 51:45]

The awe for the Tatars disappeared, and the Muslims were able to sigh deeply after six months of oppression and onslaught. The Muslims finished from the Tatarian garrison very quickly; some were killed, some captured, and others ran away. After that, the Muslims moved to take revenge on the Christians who dared to abuse the Muslims during the period Damascus was under Tatarian control.

Such being the case, on Ramadhaan the 30th 658 A.H. / 1260 A.D., the great hero, King Al-Muthaffar Qutuz, May Allaah Have mercy upon him, arrived in Damascus, 5 days after the Battle of ‘Ayn Jaaloot. He was received with a heroes' reception, and decorations were hung in the streets, and men, women and children came out to receive the hero, Al-Muthaffar.

Qutuz, May Allaah Have mercy upon him, wasted no time. He sent his army front led by Beebars to chase the Tatarian runaways, and purify the remaining Shaami territories and cities from the Tatarian garrisons. The Islamic forces arrived in Homs and attacked the camps of the Tatars, who fled in horror. The Islamic forces released the Muslim captives who had been arrested by the Tatars, and pursued the fleeing Tatarian garrisons and killed most of them, and took as captives the rest, and none but a wanderer could escape.

Within a few weeks, the Muslims purified all the territories of Shaam, and it returned once again to be part of the Islamic dominion. We ask Allaah The Almighty for permanent liberation and honor of it as well as of all Muslim countries.
Qutuz, May Allaah Have mercy upon him, declared the unification of Shaam and Egypt in one state under his leadership, after 10 years of division, i.e. since the death of As-Saalih Najm Ad-Deen Ayyoob in 648 A.H. / 1250 A.D., and Khutbahs were given in the name of Qutuz, May Allaah Have mercy upon him, over pulpits of mosques in all Egyptian, Palestinian and Syrian cities, up to those in the highest North of Shaam, around the Euphrates.
