The time of the morning and evening remembrances in the name of God, praise be to God, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and all his family and companions. It is correct that the morning and evening remembrances have a specific time; Evidence for the specificity contained in many of the hadiths of the Prophet: “He who said such-and-such in the morning, and who said such-and-such in the evening.” But the scholars differed in determining the time of morning and evening as a beginning and an end. Some scholars believe that the time of morning begins after dawn and ends with the rising of the sun. As for the evening, some scholars believe that it begins at the time of the afternoon prayer and ends with sunset, and some of them believe that its time extends to a third of the night. Perhaps the closest saying is that the servant should be keen to recite the morning adhkaar from dawn to sunrise. It is okay for him to mention it until a third of the night, and the evidence for this preference is what is mentioned in the Qur’an of urging the remembrance of it in the early morning, which is the beginning of the morning, and the evening, which is the time of afternoon to sunset. Ibn al-Qayyim, may God have mercy on him, said: The Almighty said: {And glorify the praises of your Lord before the sun rises and before sunset} [Q:39]. And before its setting, and that the place for that is between dawn and sunrise, and between afternoon and sunset, and the Almighty said: {And glorify the praises of your Lord in the evening and in the morning} [Ghafir: 55], and the morning glory is the beginning of the day, and the evening at its end. And that the place of these supplications after the morning, and after the afternoon. (A. H. Summary from Al-Wabil Al-Saib [200], and reviews the explanation of the nuclear supplications by Ibn Allan [74/3], [7], [100]). There are also remembrances that are said at night, as mentioned in the hadith. Whoever recites the two verses from the end of Surat Al-Baqarah at night will suffice him. Narrated by Al-Bukhari [4008] and muslim [807]. At a time in its time, and if he misses the remembrance, does he make it up or not?
