Bosurt Smith

Bosurt Smith (1839-1908)
He was a great English writer and conducted much research in education and history. Among his important books is Mohammed and Mohammedanism.
From Mohammed And Mohammedanism:
Religion and world
“Head of State as well as the Church, he (Mohammed) was Caesar and Pope in one but he was the Pope without the Pope's pretensions and Caesar without his legions. Without a standing army, bodyguard, palace or fixed revenue, if ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by a right Divine, it was Mohammed, for he had all the power without its instruments and supports.”[1]
