Problems facing Muslims in Ghana

The most significant problems facing Muslims in Ghana:

Among the major problems facing Muslims in Ghana are the penetration of the Zionist influence, the deviated factions and movements such as Qadianism and Freemasonry, and the persecution of Muslims by Christian missionaries. An example of that persecution can be seen in the massacre that took place on February 2, 1994 in the northern area.

It all started with an attack of the Christian tribe Konkomba against the village of Napayili (Bimbila), about 960 km from the capital Accra. In a short time, the attack spread to include 150 villages. They demolished and burned mosques over the heads of the people praying inside. It is estimated that one hundred mosques were burned and demolished, according to government statistics. Six hundred houses were burned. In addition, about one thousand farms were burned, eight thousand people were killed, and about twenty thousand became homeless.

The Muslims in Ghana established organizations and Islamic bodies to serve the Muslim community including: the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Ansar As-Sunnah Society and the League of Muslim youth. An Islamic bureau to extend care to disabled Muslims was established in Ghana to confront the missionary activities in Ghana who offer disabled Muslims financial assistance as a form of humanitarian aid in order to be an easy way to convert them to Christianity.
