Death of the tyrant

Jamaal Ad-Deen Aaqoosh Ash-Shamsi, a Mamluk emir, very skilled in fighting, previously belonging to the Mamluks of An-Naasir Yoosuf, before he left him when he saw his abstention from fighting the Tatars, and joined the army of Qutuz, fought very well and proceeded on, breaking into the Tatarian rows in a successful truthful attack until he reached Kitbuqa, the leader of the Tatars.

The Muslim hero raised his sword, and, with all his power, struck the neck of Kitbuqa, the arrogant tyrant, and the arrogant head flew and fell down on the ground. In this way, the leader of the Tatars fell, and by his fall, the Tatars lost their determination: {And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allaah Who Threw.} [Quran 8:17]

The scenario of fighting with the Tatars drastically changed. They no longer had any concern but to open a way in the northern entrance of the valley of ‘Ayn Jaaloot to be able to run away. The Muslims rushed in pursuit of the Tatars, killing some and taking some as captives.

The Tatars focused their efforts to make an opening in the northern entrance of the valley of ‘Ayn Jaaloot. After great difficulty, they were able to make an opening in the Muslim row standing at the gate, and, very quickly, the Tatars rushed in retreat northwards in great numbers, seeking a refuge to escape to.

The Tatarian runaways reached Bisan, about 20 kilometers north-east of the valley of ‘Ayn Jaaloot. Certain that the Muslims were serious in their pursuit, the Tatars had no way but to align once again and a new battle broke out in Baysaan, which was more difficult than the former one, by the consensus of historians. The Tatars fought ferociously, and were about to turn the round in their favor; and the believers were put to a severe trial, and shaken with great shaking.

Qutuz, May Allaah Have mercy upon him, went on urging the people, and calling them to keep firm. Then, he launched his eternal cry: "Wa Islaamaah! Wa Islaamaah! Wa Islaamaah!" (O my Islam! O my Islam! O my Islam!) He said it thrice, and then said imploring: "O Allaah! Grant victory to Your slave Qutuz over the Tatars!" He had no sooner finished his supplication and request than the Tatars weakened.
