It is one of Iranian cities. Unfortunately, it did not do the same as Tabriz had previously done.

For this reason, the Tatars entered the city in Ramadhaan 618 A.H., and struck with sword all its inhabitants, leaving none of them living, be he old, young or even a woman, to the extent that, as stated by Ibn Al-Atheer, May Allaah have mercy upon him, they split open the bellies of the pregnant and killed the fetuses in the wombs, and committed adultery with women and then killed them.

When they finished killing all human beings in the city, they went on committing robbery, demolition and burning, as they used to do; and there is no strength and no power save in Allaah.
