First: in the Russian Federation (Eastern Europe):
The number of Muslims in the Russian Federation reached about 20 million, concentrated in areas adjacent to the Volga River basin and in the North Caucasus region such as Chechnya, Ingushetia and Dagestan. There are also Muslims in the region of Siberia.

Second: the independent republics of the former Soviet Union (Eastern Europe):
There is an Islamic minority in the Republic of Georgia that forms about 19% of the population. In the Republic of Armenia, the Muslim population totaled nearly half a million Muslims of the entire population of 3 million in 2007. In the Republic of Moldova, there is more than a third of a million Muslims from a total population of 4 million in 2007, representing nearly 12% of the population. In the Republic of Lithuania, the Muslim minority was estimated at fifty thousand of the population of 3.5 million people in 2007, representing 1.3% of the population.

Third: the republics of Central Europe and the Balkans:

Most of the Muslim minority in Central Europe and the Balkans are indigenous people and not naturalized citizens such as Albanians, Bosnians, or Turks who settled in this region. The number of Muslims in the region reached between 8 and 10 million, who settled mainly in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, and Kosovo, which is a 100% Islamic Republic. They also settled in Macedonia and the other countries of central Europe such as Romania and Hungary.
